Greetings,

Thank you for visiting our AWANA Ministry webpage at Gateway Fellowship, S.B.C.

Our goal at Gateway Fellowship’s AWANA Ministry is to provide Biblically based teachings to our children, that equip them to accept Christ as their personal Savior at the earliest possible age, and to provide teaching, along side of scripture memorization, which allows our children to make wise decisions that honor God throughout their lives.

At Gateway Fellowship, we have a very energetic AWANA Club, where Clubbers meet weekly to study God’s Word, memorize scripture, fellowship with each other, play games with each other, and sing praise & worship songs to our God. We encourage you to spend time reading through the information on this web page, and invite you to visit our club on a Sunday evening.

Again, we thank you for visiting the AWANA webpage, and if there is anything we can do in assisting you or your family, please do not hesitate to call our Church office.

Overview of AWANA Program

Gateway Fellowship SBC’s  AWANA clubs meet from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings.  At AWANA, children from 2 years old up to High school students learn Bible verses and have fun with games, missions, theme nights, and events like hikes and the Grand Prix

AWANA Stands For:
2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV)
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

During  AWANA your child will…

  • Learn Biblical truths that relate to your child’s age and experiences
  • Memorize Bible verses
  • Enjoy fun physical activity and competition no matter their skill level
  • Develop positive friendships
  • Receive adult affirmation and encouragement
  • Build the basics of a relationship with God
  • Be recognized and awarded for accomplishments

The Awana program is broken out in the age groups (grade levels) described below.

Puggles – Ministry for 2 to 3 year olds

In Puggles, children are welcomed each week with play time, songs and simple crafts and activities. Leaders present age-appropriate lessons using large colorful teaching cards, finger puppet plays and more. Lessons teach and reinforce basic biblical precepts.  Children must be potty-trained to attend.

Cubbies – Ministry for 3 & 4 year olds

Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it’s the fun puppet, the exciting games or all their “Cubbies friends,” they simply love it. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes.

Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so he/she will respect and trust Him for life.

Sparks – Ministry for Kindergarten to 2nd grades

Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing.

For many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love their red vests, the exciting games, the Bible study time, and spending time with leaders and friends.

Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: Hang Glider, Wing Runner and Sky Stormer. Each year, clubbers work to complete a handbook which focuses on scripture memorization. They listen to Bible study time, play games, and have a time of praise and worship to our God.

Truth & Training Clubs – Ministry for 3rd through 6th grades

T & T engages 3rd through 6th graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ’s grace.

Games, scripture memorization, and large-group lessons deepen your child’s knowledge about God and His Word. They also teach the clubbers how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life. T&T clubs are designed to help kids stay plugged into Church as they move into the preteen years and continue growing in their relationship with Christ.

Trek – Ministry for Junior High students

Trek challenges Junior High students to stay plugged in and connected to Church.

At Gateway, we focus on teaching the Bible along with fellowship activities to keep the students involved. Each class is given a common objective / goal at the beginning of the year, and ½ way through the year (Christmas), if they are on track to achieve the goals, celebrate with an incentive: a bowling party, a movie night, or a group night out are just a few examples.

Journey (24/7 Ministry) – Ministry for High School students

Our high-school program, Journey, features an energetic look, biblically based content, life application and an emphasis on Scripture memory. At Gateway our Journey program is a Bible study setting, where students are taught the biblical truths and are challenged to live up to the expectations.

The fellowship time in our Journey Club is second to none, as students develop strong relationships with leaders and other students, that lead into life-long relationships. They are encouraged with bi-yearly incentives to stay on track. At Christmas, ½ way through the year, if they are on track to achieve the goals, they celebrate with an incentive: a bowling party, a movie night, or a group night out are just a few examples.
